I dressed the mantel
with faux
pumpkins from last year that I gave a makeover using
paint in natural colors.
I also
painted in the letters and then added a little dry brush shading around the
pumpkins and letters
with burnt umber.
And, speaking of the hot tool — I also made three Tribal Halloween
Pumpkins with the hot tool, a DecoArt stencil and gold
paint.
So I'm off
with my
pumpkins and some white
paint!
I centered things off
with my favorite cake stand from our collection
with Painted Fox, which now creates a landing spot for a center
pumpkin.
My apartment isn't exactly conducive to
pumpkin carving, so I opted for a cleaner project and
painted my
pumpkin patch
with some neon pink
paint and my favorite patterns: stripes and polka dots!
They are so elegant and happen to fit nicely
with my new
pumpkin vase:) I got a couple of those mini white
pumpkins I mentioned earlier and
painted them in the same way, except I used painters tape instead of aluminum foil.

pumpkins were in a bag that I purchased last year on sale and

I actually first tried dip dying
pumpkins (craft fail) and
painting them
with a brushstrokes patter (somewhat craft fail) as well as a few other ideas before I tried this one.
In the future I might
paint a
pumpkin white or gather whiter
pumpkins and
paint a G or monogrammed G and surround the
pumpkin with littler
pumpkins.
Once you have
painted the box, filling it
with a layer of faux eucalyptus and adding the white
pumpkins takes a few minutes at most.
