Use free or cheap essentials as the «bones»
for your kids» craft
projects, and visit the dollar store
for a few key craft supplies like googly eyes, foam shapes, pompoms, gems,
paints, glue and pipe cleaners, and you'll be able to craft right along with us.
A: My daughter's 4 now, and we still
use the sprayer to rinse out her portable potty bowl as well as
use it as a portable utility «sink»
for cleaning up after
paint projects and nastiness that we don't want / can't go down the kitchen sink.

project as Painter in Residence, she took a characterless old wooden wardrobe and transformed it into a fun, colourful statement piece
using Annie Sloan
paint.
For this
project, you'll need: Plastic Easter eggs Large, glass container Tall, thin drinking glass (I
used a pilsner glass) Sticks, either purchased or fresh (You can even spray
paint them like I did here.)
I loved working with this
paint and will definitely be
using it
for future
projects!
And that's not all, there are lots of ways you could vary this
project to make scarves with a completely different look
using the same
paint —
for example, you could try dragging the brush strokes all the way across the width of the scarf to create uneven stripes (like this beauty by Kate Spade) or you could wet your scarf first to make the
paint bleed
for more of a watercolour look.
We have
used their
paints in the past
for many of their
projects.
I recommend lightly sanding, &
using Valspar
paint & primer in one — in a sprayer
for a smooth finish & quick
project.

I also
use chalk
paint, it dries so quick and comes in handy
for projects I want to
paint and finish quickly!
I dug out an old canvas that I had intended to
use for another
project which turned out horribly and left me with several canvases
painted pale blue.
I'll definitely be
using these
paints and waxes
for future
projects!

Paint Base Coat When
painting stripes on walls, you're going to first
paint the wall a solid color.
For this
project I'm
using some items I had on hand from previous
projects (items the course teaches one to make from scratch), Americana Decor's Chalky Finish
paint in black and white Liquitex Gesso.
I've been
using chalk
paint for a couple of years
for my furniture
projects.
I want to try this method, I've been making my own chalk
paint, and
painted my china cabinet, and
used the Minwax dark wax to antique it, it's not
for everyone, but the look is just what I want, old world look, not even put it has character, I am doing my coffee table as well, I find very ornate pieces cheap and
paint a base cream chalk
paint and then go over it with the Minwax dark, let it sit
for 15 min and buff, then add another layer of wax, its so much fun, but the problem I'm having is I'm ADD and I have 5
projects going at once!

for many years and I just prefer to
use regular
paint.
Since, I've been working with several colors lately, I thought it would be fun to put together a resource
for you to
use as you are choosing
paint for your
projects.
If I were
using it in my home
for regular
use, I'd seal with a simple flat clear sealer like I
used in this
project for the Annie Sloan Chalk
Painted Pots.
Started a
project using white milk
paint over a very dark piece (bleed thru is not the problem), it's just a much different chemical composition (thinner coverage, even when mixing - in less water) and doesn't cover well, requiring a minimum of 4 coats (great
for some
projects, but not this one).
I
painted the desk I was talking about,
used Annie Sloan
paint and wax, yikes expensive but wanted to se the real dal
for first
project.

used this formula

I then took some left over spray
paint that I had

project and spray
painted each end of the bucket red.
I'm having a super fun time with watercolor
painting recently, and when creating this Mint & Tulips little illustration (which I was planning to

projects) I immediately thought it would look amazing on top of a to - do list and after a little Photoshop session this is what came out.

paint, but I was almost out of my chalk
paint stash and needed quite a bit
for this
project.
I had this spray
paint from another
project (I would share but it was kind of a fail) I love

painting project for that matter because it is so easy and it is durable.

I worked on the little dude's baby album
using Project Life and
painted an awesome sign
for my future craft room!
We took the backing off the mirror, took the mirror out and put it away
for safe keeping (ya know, in case I want to
use it
for some random diy
project in the future) and then I
painted the frame with a couple coats of Chalk Paint ® in Pure White.
For this particular
project I actually
used Chalk Paint, but I've also
used water - based
paints as well.

use a Krylon seal coat called «Krylon make it last craft sealer» it comes in a easy to
use spray
paint can that you can spray over your entire
project for weatherproofing 11.
