We didn't support our abstract painters in Cornwall and championed «kitchen sink» artists, we haven't been collecting «modern art» in the 20th C, which is why the Tate collection is so poor, we have a «literary» understanding of painting, we are «academicizing» fine art in our educational institutions, we need to re-think what are problem with abstraction really is...
You don't really want to say that you plan on painting your kitchen blue in three years, or you want to have the perfect husband, or you're planning on having two pugs and running a microbrewery from your back yard.

Hi Ingrid, yes we did look up similar homes in the area and yes they do have pantries, we just weren't sure if it would increase the value to the property, but we updated the kitchen with granite counter tops and have painted the cabniets we invested in the kitchen close to $ 3k, only because the cabniets are in very good condition I just painted the cabniets and the kitchen walls and hired a pro for the granite $ 1500 for the slab and intallation, and we got gently used stainless steel appliances.
That's not how we do though so I fixed up the kitchen finished part of the basement and will have all rooms freshly painted by the time we want to sell it in a year.

We're in the middle of a major remodel, majority of big things are purchased, and the kitchen is almost complete, BUT...... we still have to decorate and do the master bath!!!! Since paying a professional to paint kitchen cabinets the right way is simply not cheap (and I was not interested in doing it myself again this time), a huge sale on doors that actually fit our cabinets was such a blessing!
I actually still have things that I need to do in the kitchen (like lighting) and the lower cabinets need to be repainted, since I made the mistake of trusting a paint can that said it didn't need sealer.
Like you have said many times black and white in floor tiles are timeless and if you do paint black in your kitchen only do the base cabinets.
But there are so many corners in my kitchen, I don't plan on painting it again.

It's funny that you posted this today because I'm sitting at work daydreaming about painting my bathroom and installing the new vanity top when I still have touch up painting to do in the office — cabinet doors to replace in the kitchen - toekick and shoe molding to put on — picture ledges to hang (frames to buy and pictures to print * ahem * to put in frames)....
I will be buying new white kitchen cabinets (not painting mine) and want to add a distressed look in the detailed areas only (I don't want to distress the whole cabinet because it changes the real white color to a cream color).
Good news is my painters will return Tuesday to paint the cabinet in the kitchen and finish filling (caulking) and painting the rest of the wainscoting through the entry over the next week (we didn't have enough time to paint all that wainscoting before the holidays!).

While most of my cabinets were finally painted right before Christmas (along with my family room walls and trim and part of the horizontal planking in my little hall) my one «open cabinet» in the kitchen was not able to be painted as it had to have some finishing work done on the inside of it first.
It's not just a feeling that has come from finally having completed projects like fresh paint on the brick and new countertops in our kitchen, although we do feel so grateful to be on the precipice of being able to cook a proper Christmas dinner in a new oven.
