The oil
paint makes the finish just a bit glossier than latex, but it makes cleaning and wiping down the
cabinets a lot easier
too!

I've
painted one of my oak bathroom vanities, and I like that

The «moodiness» of a room doesn't have to come from dark walls, of course, it can be achieved through darker floors, a mix of richer furniture, antiques, fabrics, or
painted cabinets,
too.
My next project is to get my

Last year it was

cabinets (talk about crazy), this year we're redoing the fireplace (and just had hardwood floors installed

I think my favorite take is the first with the wood lower
cabinets and the
painted white uppers, but there's a charm to the bottoms matching the door,
too... Hmm...
And, yes, the bulk of my clients request to see what their

I loved the dark wood combined with the white
cabinets and trim throughout the home, the
paint colors were pretty similar, but they didn't feel
too overpowering or monotonous.
You can see the peaked ceiling and floor in there were in need of repainting and staining, and the white room had hand
painted doors on a china
cabinet in between the windows but I felt like those were
too much with the antique Chinoiserie screen that we inherited from our Grandmother Mary.

cabinets are lovely, and I
painted cabinets in one of my houses with a grayish shade of green, but in this house I felt like green would be
too «cabin - y» with my rustic wood floors.
I'm working in my bathroom

The bathroom is a gut, but say you're not made of money and can't afford to gut the kitchen
too, you could put some molding on the
cabinet doors and crown molding on the top of them,
paint them and add some nice hardware.
I also cleaned inside the
cabinets since I knew we would be
painting those
too.
New
paint on the
cabinets would be dreamy
too!
I have two other bathrooms that will hopefully be getting
paint and new
cabinet hardware this year
too so it was fun to think through all my bathrooms and what I could possibly do in time.
But after all these years, they do need

cabinets yourself — my hubby, who is a «master» DIYer, insists that it would be
