Secondly, I know some of you think I am crazy for
painting over cherry, but cherry furniture is just not my style right now.
Especially when
painting over cherry, mahogony or dark stain, which we all know can bleed through.
Not exact matches
Some examples of when I would prime first: I'm
painting over a wood that's prone to bleeding, like
cherry.
If it reassures anyone who still thought you
painted over an antique, from looking at your before photos I think the original was merely
cherry stained, not made of actual
cherry wood.
Dad also gave me one of Mom's
cherry bedroom sets that she had custom made
over 20 years ago, and I would NEVER
paint it.
