We purchased our first home a year ago with a floor - to - ceiling outdated - looking fireplace, and I've been stalking around the internet, trying to figure out how to update it without
painting over the brick.

over in yet another huge gallery, and large abstract
paintings made of chewing gum.
If a buyer doesn't love, for example, the red
brick facing on a traditional masonry fireplace, it can be
painted or plastered
over by a mason.

here is what I would do... and notice, not a
paint brush in sight: 1 ~ Hang a great porch swing... weeeee... and that swing must be festooned with loads of floral pillows and some with cow spots 2 ~ Add enough rocking chairs for the fam and a few friends that will stop by 3 ~ On either side of the door... place potted laurel wood privets 4 ~ Drape some cool looking quilts
over the
brick railing 5 ~ Here and there place some small tables to hold baby pots of lavender and glasses of lemonade or for card playing and bonus... 6 ~ From the ceiling hang some iron chandeliers and another bonus... 7 ~ Place a cat or dog on that porch
We
painted over the grout of the fireplace with the same
paint as we
painted the
brick.

brick and
paint right
