Since I'm working on a large painting for one side of the living room, I don't want to have another huge
painting over the fireplace.

Over the next year, we would put in new lighter colored flooring,

I guess the traditionalist in me loves a
painting or mirror
over the
fireplace, and plenty of pretty accessories on the mantle.
