I didn't want that formica surface to «just look like painted formica» — the textured basecoats added a little more interest.

I had used Caromal Colours Textured Basecoat before and was familiar with that product but this was my first experience with their Reclaim paint.

I think this is my favorite transformation to date... They used Caromal Colours Textured Basecoat paint — Parchment with Glaze for the mains, and Chocolate for the accent cabinets over the sink — how perfect was that idea?

their Textured basecoats are amazing over crazy surfaces like metal, laminate floors, ceramic tiles, glaze etc etc — this paint will stay put, EVEN without being sealed, it just requires your surface be soapy rag clean, wax free, and dry.

The paint finish on the urns looked worn — I refreshed it using Caromal Textured Basecoat Paprika, dry brushed Cottage Paint Bold Black, sprayed on gold Webbing veins, then gave it a coating of Caromal Toner.

Another frame I painted, this original was black — I dry brushed it with Caromal Textured Basecoat Putty, Botanical Willow, and Gardenia and decorated the inside with an Aged Paper Receipt --

Even though the Texture Basecoat will take a little more effort than the easier Reclaim, I'm not going to compromise — I love the TB paints for furniture finishes.
