Palm Shortening comes from small scale family farms in South America.
Palm shortening is derived from palm oil (read about Virgin Palm Oil here).

palm shortening for this recipe.
Palm shortening is flavorless and the butter flavor would most likely overpower the almond butter and honey.
Palm shortening to replace softened butter.
If you want to make them vegan, you can substitute the butter for
palm shortening, though I haven't tried that recipe yet so I can't guarantee how it'll turn out.

So to recap, the pure beeswax burned slowly but quite hot so the surface never completely melted while the beeswax /
palm shortening blend melted far too quickly.
The two different blends I used were a 50/50 mix of beeswax and
palm shortening (sourced sustainably) and a 1 pound beeswax to 1/2 cup of coconut oil ratio for the second.
The only thing I can think of might be palm oil or
palm shortening.
Let this come to room temperature before serving —
the palm shortening will harden once chilled.
