In a lawsuit, undocumented immigrants say they thought they were applying for green cards, but their lawyers filed
papers for asylum and put them in danger of being removed.
«Participants in the course had the chance to each write a
paper, and we're working to get local peer reviewers who can give feedback and serve as mentors, and then create a joint publication that will illustrate their qualifications,» says Constantin Scherer, who organized the Science in
Asylum project as part of his work at the Vienna - based Centre
for Social Innovation.
