Here is something I have often found myself wondering since I became a mum, why do
parents argue with other
parents about how they
feed their
babies?

babies that are not picky
about the nipple they use, but there are equally as many particular children who prefer a specific type for their style of

The first few months of your

baby and her unique physical development.
And we expect
parents to have access to information so that they can make informed choices
about how they
feed the most vulnerable and precious people in our society,
babies and young children.
When
parents have important questions
about feeding their
babies, I think they deserve clear, accurate expert advice.
The claims implied
babies need to be
fed on these expensive milks to receive sufficient nutrients and had already been ruled misleading in October after
Baby Milk Action brought complaints
about a promotional email sent to members of the ASDA
Baby and Toddler Club (see press release ASDA and Nestle misled
parents with toddler milk promotion).
In my work as a pediatric Occupational Therapist and
baby feeding expert, I've learned that by giving
parents a basic understanding of how
babies learn to eat I can make a big impact on how they feel
about feeding solids and how their
babies feel
about food.
I am absolutely shocked
about the suggestions of corn syrup and prune juice!!!! You are
feeding false information to
parents who may not know any better and could unknowingly harm their
baby.
After
about 4 months, formula -
fed babies will gain at a slightly faster rate because formula has more calories than breast milk, and
parents tend to push
baby to finish bottles (as opposed to letting them stop at the breast whenever they want).
