Twenty - four per cent of
parents with school age children have either bought or rented a new property in order to obtain an address within their chosen school catchment area.
The 2016 poll gathers answers from a nationally representative, stratified sample of 4,181 adults aged 18 and older, including representative oversamples of teachers (609) and
parents with school age children living in their home (1,571).
The 2017 poll gathered responses from a nationally representative, stratified sample of 4,214 adults aged 18 and older, including representative oversamples of teachers (669),
parents with school age children living in their home (2,170), and Hispanics (805).
As a Latinx
parent with school age children in Boston, I think it's disheartening that Latinos account for four times more of the student body than they do of the teaching force.
