part of that exploration, us scholar - columnist - bloggers have
been asked to talk
about trends in our corners of the blogosphere, and make some predictions and prescriptions for the role of scholar - op - ed -
writers - bloggers in Canada as it hurtles towards 2042.
Of course there
are other reasons for my sporadic blogging this year: a surprise new baby coming which completely disoriented us, a new book to finish writing (and I will share all
about that in January), travelling and speaking all over North America, stewarding the message of Jesus Feminist throughout her first year of life, creating the Jesus Feminist collection with Imagine Goods, a trip to Haiti, new opportunities as a
writer, three tinies at home with their own lives and drama and growth and change, remodelling
parts of our home, marriage, church, friends, life, work, laundry (oh, can we talk laundry?!)
Above it all
is the picture of Runciman the tease, the inventor of his own image, the deliberate player of
parts, the disengaged audience to his own choreography, but also the man of letters, a consummate stylist who used historical events to explore ideas
about people and the world, a
writer of epics and romances.
His view
is that Paul basically gave himself free reign here at the start of his teachings to the gentiles (see also 1:1 a: «Paulos, apostolos ouk ap anthroopoon, oude di anthroopon, alla dia Iesou Christou, kia Theou patros...») and then started preaching his own theology heavily influenced by his own biases and preferences — not that any of the
writers were ever completely exempt from it of course, but still the

The general public rhapsodizes
about «spirituality» while evangelical Protestant
writers wax enthusiastic
about «theism,» as though Christianity
is one of many species of a genus, all with interchangeable
parts.
These
writers believed themselves to
be inspired by the Spirit and called as teachers, and their writings, argues Wright, «
were not simply
about the coming of God's Kingdom into all the world; they
were, and
were designed to
be,
part of the means whereby that happened... Those who read these writings discovered, from very early on, that the books themselves carried the same power, the same authority in action, that had characterized the initial preaching of the «word.»
I find it offensive that the
writer talks
about suffering in other
parts of the world as though it
is acceptable.
God wishes to make beggars into Lords... Look
about you at the courts of all the kings and princes, at the cities and the parishes... There you will find lawyers, doctors, counsellors,

part were poor and who have certainly all attended school, and who by means of the pen have risen to where they

been idealistic, so there

be part of your author book marketing strategy if you want to use this space to increase your visibility.
