In order to attain that level of personal reflection and professional distance, the institute creates an environment that enables
participants to remove themselves from the day - to - day grind by creating a retreat - like experience that encourages candid
discussion from the time they awake until they go to bed, and provides unstructured time to prepare for upcoming
classes, reflect on what they are learning, and apply their new insights to challenges they may face back home.
In addition, a user queue allows students to become part of the
discussions and
classes at the teacher's leisure, rather than just passive
participants.
There are two ways to do that based on the
class size and dynamics: one giant circle for all students, or fishbowl style (where the
participants in an inner circle have a
discussion and the
participants in an outer circle coach the inner circle).
The Master
Class series, which is open to the entire Harvard community, will be 90 minutes
in length and will involve a demonstration of teaching followed by a reflective
discussion with the
participants.

in a new way.
A teacher who plans to use the online environment to build on concepts or content introduced
in class may choose to be an involved
participant by regularly engaging
in the
discussion.
Participants will engage
in dynamic
class discussions in both a real - time online meeting room environment and the
class discussion forum.
Participants are expected to engage
in all twelve online
class discussions throughout this course (one
discussion per week).
Weekly
classes cover a variety of law - related topics:
participants are expected to read the weekly online course readings, use the web to practice the skills taught each week, participate
in interactive online
discussion groups with the instructor and fellow
participants, and complete short written assignments based on the material covered.
In addition to the conference reports, there will be panel
discussions, where you can ask questions to
participants, as well as master
classes providing practical knowledge and case studies.
Participants can access the course facilitator through email,
in the Online Workshops, and via the
class discussion forums.
Participants are also required to engage
in six (6) online
class discussions with peers, and complete two (2) keystone activities including an «Elevator Pitch» and a final presentation.
