But there actually is no biopic being made; Greene and Sheil film intentionally cheesy - looking scenes from their bogus movie, which are intercut with Sheil's real conversations with Chubbuck's former coworkers and, in one
particularly excellent scene, a local gun dealer.

It hits every comedic mark that it needs to,
particularly in the excellently cast gulag
scenes, and it never fails to make fun of itself (Statler and Waldorf are
excellent critics and never overused), but the end credits sequence is dour and reflects nothing that came before it.
With his heavy Bronx accent, Tony Curtis is more earnest than accurate as Antoninus, «duh singah of sawngs,» but the other cast members are
excellent,
particularly Charles Laughton as the shrewd Roman council member Gracchus, Laurence Olivier (exuding white - collar wickedness) as Roman leader Crassus and
scene - stealing Peter Ustinov as the droll slave trader Batiatus.
I wouldn't say the story is
particularly original, but it's told very well, with mostly strong voice acting, and
excellent scene direction.

excellent job of warmly presenting the lush music, dialogue is never less than clear, and surround channels deliver good immersion,
particularly during the many party and theater
scenes.

excellent with deep blacks and appropriate levels of contrast,
particularly during any
scenes in the submarine.
