Nintendo Switch has been fully revealed and fans are expecting a great line - up of third
party games for the console.
Not exact matches
Aside from the Switch's main gimmick — turning into a portable
console — and Nintendo's first -
party game lineup, there's no standout sell point
for the Switch.
Microsoft and Sony are doubtlessly pouring big resources into developing VR
games for their respective
consoles since they will be great differentiators — but will the two systems be similar enough to attract all - important third -
party developers?

game consoles in my house, and
for our holiday

With Bethesda's upcoming AAA
game lineup, including The Elder Scrolls Online, Wolfenstein: The New Order, and The Evil Within, all skipping out on Wii U platform launches, one might wonder where all of the third
party support
for Nintendo's
console is going.

party u, mario 3d world AND DK, got every last one except DK, got him Mario and Sonic at the Sochi olympics instead, which turned out to be good, but not exactly your traditional Nintendo
game, it really shouldn't take so long
for a DK platformer, I mean geez, Retro might as well be developing on retro development kits at this rate
now when the nextbox and ps4 come out we will be relying on devs who want to work on the wiiU

party games, as the hardware seems like it's going to be lightyears apart which devs will want to down grade their
game to support a
console most of them don't like working with to start off with.
I keep hearing people list off a bunch of Nintendo
games and then say «well, I hope they go 3rd
party because I want to play all these
games but not get a Nintendo
console» If Nintendo has such a good lineup
for you to say that... you should just get the
console!
They're in a position to make the Switch the go - to
console for classic
games,
party games, mobile gaming, streaming services, and of course, fantastic first -
party exclusives.
It's not too much of a wait, but it's the first time we've seen a staggered release
for one of the Switch's major first -
party games - and given how the
console is region free and how easy it is to pick up
games from the Japanese eShop, we can only presume the version coming out in Japan on September 28th won't have full localised language options.

parties for big action
game releases, with cross-platform titles that will suddenly perform better on their competitor's
console come 7th November.
Nintendo Land is a
party game for the Wii U and is a launch title
for the
console.
Now look at the gaming world... the only exclusives you have anymore are by developers owned by the respective
console makers... in other words,
games Sony makes are exclusive to PS3, MS
games on Xbox, etc. 3rd
party companies know they've been seriously losing out on sales by making
games for one
console.
Although the Wii has a larger install base, a combination of struggling sales
for third -
party hardcore
games and aspirations that can't be realized on the
console has led Suda to look
for other, next - gen
consoles.
Used to start out with Call of Duty but, with that contract ending and going to Sony it starts with Bonnie Ross from 343 Industries taking the stage to talk about Halo, goes to Battlefield now, Microsofts turn to show Assassin's Creed this year, they go on to two more third -
party games, then Phil Spencer comes on stage to announce everything from that point on will be Xbox and Windows 10 exclusive kicked off with Turn 10 and their next Forza title, then they'll show their next Fable
game, Chris Charla will then be on stage to talk about [email protected] they'll show some Hololens stuff, talk about Xbox Live and will finish off with The Coalitions new IP, hopefully, otherwise it'll be Gears of War 5 to close it out and then Phil Spencer will come on stage and say: «We've shown you today that we have the best in class first -
party developers working on exclusive
games for the most power
console ever, we've shown you we have support from third -
party developers which have chosen to showcase their
games for the most powerful
console.
A bit of a disappointment really considering this was one of the big
games at E3 next week helping demonstrate the wide third -
party support
for the
console.
To be fair, you can't blame them, their
game probably sold nothing on Wii U and the
console also bombed which wasn't too encouraging
for 3rd
parties to keep the support going.
You missed the point, those two system ARE N'T JUST about the exclusives, they have MAJOR third
party support & that's key to winning next gen. Third
party games are becoming more & more appealing, not to mention that the Wii spark (which made it the best selling
console last gen) has died, no one looks at the WiiU and thinks: «Wow, I like the new touch screen controller» because believe it or not, it makes it hard
for you to focus from one screen to the other & that doesn't work well with a
console that needs to be hooked to a TV (
games that support switching gameplay from the TV to the controller are great though!).
3rd
parties are responsible
for themselves and when they put
games on a
console, people buy those
games, thus creating a market.
The point is, Wii U has done the best
for some 3rd
parties and some 3rd
party games over the other
consoles and Steam.
So yeah, it is very expensive these days to get 3rd
party support on your
console and PC
gamers refuse to pay full price on most
games waiting
for massive Steam sales.
It also has the smallest line - up of
games with all it's gems being developed internally, so if you want quality
games, you have to wait
for first / second
party studios and other exclusive
games (ala MGS4) to really get the full worth of this
console.

for the PS4 and me as a PS4 because it's going to cost MS that much more money to block 3rd
party games coming to my preferred

party sony is releasing a multitude of great
games all exclusive and a reason to own their
console.
When Nintendo partnered with Philips to produce the ill - fated CD - i
game console, it let a third -
party developer take the reins
for «Zelda's Adventure,» in which Princess Zelda herself took the lead role.
People may balk at paying $ 60
for the same thing on other
consoles but the way in which the service works, the ease with which I can join a
party and play
games and chat, that matters so much.
That said, as much as I'd love to see SEGA throw their hat in the ring, there's no logical reason
for the company to leave their comfortable position as a third
party publisher and developer in favor of first
party console and
games production.
As XSEED staff often mentions, viability is rarely that big of a hurdle nowadays, when you can easily port a
game on PC if something goes wrong with the
console release, the main thing is
for the
parties involved to want it to happen.
With Microsoft's new
console, that will no longer be the case — but with a first -
party library looking so thin
for now and the majority of
gamers without a desperate need
for updated hardware, who will buy an Xbox One X?
This changed the dynamic
for the 1st
party, who could now produce a variety of
games comparatively cheaply and sell them to an audience through retail stores; and it changed the dynamic
for consumers, who now had to buy only a single expensive
console, and one comparably cheap cartridge
for each
game they wanted to play, as opposed to having to buy one expensive
console for each
game they wanted to play.
Nintendo's decision to release the Circle Pad Pro peripheral proves that their
console was simply not capable of supporting the range of
games that third -
party developers wanted to make
for the system.
The Apple TV ecosystem is a curious one to watch, as when you think about it - All the ingredients really are there
for a potentially killer video
game console experience, but no one has really put them together yet due to various stopping points like AirPlay lag, Apple's refusal to allow third
party apps to run on the Apple TV, and other obstacles.
All those people thinking the Wii would sink Nintendo looked on with jaw - dropping astonishment as Nintendo's little white
console was in a sell - out state
for two whole years, thanks to one breakout first -
party title: Wii Sports (which to my knowledge is still the best selling
game of all - time, clocking in at 83 million units).
The Wii U had pretty much achieved what it was going to achieve by this point though Splatoon
for Wii U did reasonably well to move 4.5 million units on a
console which was, despite it's big first
party games being pretty successful was nstill earing the end of it's life.

party games for both
consoles.
