We've tinted the finished frosting pink by adding red gel -
paste food coloring drop by drop.
Use liquid gel or gel -
paste food coloring for a deeper, richer color.

What I'm wondering is what kind of
food coloring you used;
paste or liquid and which brand.
Since some of the
colors of the powders tend to be a bit dull, they can be brightened up by adding a few drops of the appropriate
food coloring when making the
pastes.
One thing I did was take the same type of gloves and paint streaks inside the gloves with red
food color paste.
Commercially, the ingredients from the nopalea cactus fruit are used in the
food industry as red
food dyes to improve the
color of tomato
paste, sauces, desserts, jams and jellies, ice cream, sweets and breakfast cereals.
I used my very favorite go - to
food coloring AmeriColor Gel
Paste — Electric Pink.
Next, beat in the vanilla extract and
food coloring — be generous with the
coloring paste as it fades during baking.
