The breed does have some issues

The health conditions to be mindful of with this breed match those of Labrador retrievers and poodles, which include hip dysplasia, elbow dysplasia, von Willebrand disease, cataracts, progressive retinal atrophy, skin conditions, ear infections,
patellae luxation in smaller dogs and cruciate ligament tears in larger dogs.
This dog is healthy but may develop minor conditions such as hip dysplasia and
patella luxation.
There have been low incidences of
patella luxation and distichiasis.
