When I first agreed to
go on @greatdayhouston for a segment about
mixing patterns, my first thought was, «what have I gotten myself into?»
However, when you're working with two strong contrasting colors such as black and white, you're
going to want to throw some
patterns into the
mix to make for a stylish room.
I love love love the
pattern mixing you have
going on here!
They never
go out of style and you can style and
mix them with so many different
patterns and colors.
I chose to
pattern mix, so I
went with gingham and leopard print.

Mixing patterns is something that can
go terribly wrong and I think that's one of the reasons why I never gave it a
go, but recently I did a little bit of style research for my autumn Capsule (pinterest etc..)
The way you learn how to

going in your closet, grabbing the various

I have been in a
pattern mixing mood lately, and since leopard is a neutral and
goes with EVERYTHING I included my leopard print shoes with this dress and cardigan for a nice comfortable casual fit to church.
I mean, I hope I give you enough ideas that you can
go out and incorporate them into your own wardrobe (the rule of three, wearing monochrome,
pattern mixing, etc) but I know some people are visual learners.

go together!!!!! I like

patterns as I did here with the scarf.
Go for block colors, this way you can
mix and match with other items in your wardrobe and add
pattern with accessories.
Long
gone are the days of white and khaki, prints and

Maybe one day I will be more adventurous with my
pattern mixing, but for now this is about as bold as I
go.

mix and match spring
patterns and textiles like a pro!
So, instead, I
went with subtle
pattern mixing with polka dots and stripes and brought in some purple and green in the cardigan and the necklace.
I've noticed over the past few months that I've
