When activated, sensors inside would scan the thousands of brain waves oscillating in a soldier's head; a microprocessor would
apply pattern recognition software to decode those waves and translate them into specific sentences or words, and a radio would transmit the message.
The program, which assesses brain scans using
pattern recognition software similar to that used in airport security and passport control, has been developed by researchers at Imperial College London.
Facebook will expand
its pattern recognition software to other countries after successful tests in the U.S. to detect users with suicidal intent, the world's largest social media network said on Monday.
Our new study is a pilot but it suggests that ultimately doctors might be able to use
our pattern recognition software, alongside existing methods, in order to make more accurate assessments about who is most at risk and treat them accordingly.
Bridging the protocols and different data formats spoken by our connected devices is going to take a lot of integration, or maybe just
some pattern recognition software and contextual analysis.
