The holiday season was a blur for this baker — I went through so many
chocolate chips and
pecans and pounds of sugar that I honestly wasn't sure what I had left.
Next, I topped the apples and peanut butter with unsweetened flaked coconut, sliced almonds, a few
pecans and, of course,
chocolate chips.
Other than that, it was perfect and I am anxious to try again without the Lily's
chocolate chips for an old fashioned
pecan taste.
To ensure this granola is gloriously gluten - free, simply check the label on your oats to make sure they're GF certified.Because they're so tender and buttery on their own, I like my
pecans straight up, which is why they're not roasted along with the almonds and instead added along with the
chocolate chips.
One addition I always make is 1/4 cup of chopped
pecans, and I make the switch to mini
chocolate chips, and whole milk greek yogurt as apposed to fat free.
I used chopped walnuts and
pecans in place of the
chocolate chips and this recipe is really good!
I'm an adult now, so I've topped these waffles properly: with smooth almond butter frosting and maple syrup, and I'd recommend extra
chocolate chips and toasted
pecans too.
