BOSTON, MA — Animal protection groups including the Animal Rescue League of Boston (ARL) and MSPCA - Angell today lauded the passage of Senate Bill 2345 (formerly known as H4328 / H4244) that establishes harsher punishments and
financial penalties for animal cruelty and aims to prevent abuse from happening in Massachusetts.
Bill C - 229 would increase
penalties for animal cruelty offences and effectively close the loopholes in the Criminal Code that make it difficult for enforcement agencies and the courts to convict animal abusers.
By increasing
the penalty for animal cruelty we are not only working to keep animals safe from harm but we can hopefully have an even bigger impact in the overall efforts to reduce crime.
Legislation now in place in Massachusetts increases
the penalties for animal cruelty, yet animals still need you to take action by reporting concerns or suspicions about animal abuse or neglect in your community to local authorities.
if the parking lot owners are not responsible for the signs, they may want to put one up with
the penalty for animal cruelty here.
