Frankly, I was surprised this game was eligible, I expected it to be on the top downloaded list (especially since the person /
people behind this game seem to have promoted it quite a bit on Twitter).
Not exact matches
seems to always be
behind projects that turn out golden... Bioshock Infinite and Gears of War... Although like I saw a few
people say above, I would be interested in seeing Gears go open world, or perhaps do a Gears / Destiny type
game.
It's an odd move for Microsoft to be putting this much muscle
behind an RTS franchise in an era when so many
seem to be hedging their bets on the entire genre, but I'm very curious to see whether they can reignite the love
people had for the first two Age of Empires
games.
The reaction
seems to have invigorated the
people behind the
games, too, who grew dispirited at fan criticisms.
One disadvantage of this system that
people may run into is that the
game seems to expect that you are usually going to tackle each dungeon twice, because if you don't you will find yourself getting
behind in levels.
I respect the spirit of the idea, and the
people behind it, but the whole thing just
seems to be wading in the shallows outside the reality of
game journalism, to me.
