people if you're not already healthy it can be — it can be a stressor but for my marathoners, the biggest thing I like is branched - chain amino acids because the body will allow those amino acids to pinch -
hit instead of breaking down your
muscle and getting more catabolic, i.e. breaking down faster.
Outside of
hitting up the gym to meet
people (you know, the ones that just kind of linger around the drinking fountain or the elliptical machines), you probably make your way to the local gym for one of three reasons: building
muscle strength, you want to build
muscle size, or, in the words of Lester Burnham, you «Want to look good naked.»
As it turns out, for most
persons the
muscle mass of the legs, with large
muscles, like Gluteus Maximus (gluts), is ideal for reaching the optimum training effect with high intensity training (
HIT).
There is no right or wrong way to train, although most
people respond best to
hitting each
muscle twice per week.
People who
hit the gym often but don't seem to have enough energy during their workout or the
muscle strength they're looking for may want to get lab tests to check their vitamin D levels.
David, I think one of the main issues is that many
people have been tricked into believing that
HIT is a cure all for everything, I.e that it can improve endurance, strength / power, get leaner, increase
muscle mass etc..
Most
people hit the gym or pound the pavement to improve cardiovascular health, build
muscle, and of course, get a rockin» body, but working out with 230 lb Bumper Set has above - the - neck benefits, too.
But if you're adding in strength (not as much with shadow boxing but if you were
hitting a bag — or
person), then you'd add in some anaerobic components (Type II
muscle fibers).
Furthermore, when
people are
hitting muscle groups several times per week, do you think they tend to overtrain or undertrain?
If that does
hit the market for muscular dystrophy, you better believe
people are going to be using it for just normal
muscle building.
