unicorns, satyrs, a leviathan that god defeated in battle, giants, virgin births, flat earths, and
people rising from the dead.
People rising from the dead, a virgin birth, a global flood, an array of physics defying miracles and so on.
How stupid does someone have to be to believe in an invisible magician in the sky, talking snakes,
people rising from the dead, magical ribs, etc?
When one looks at the various Christian beliefs that were once firmly believed — Adam and Eve, Noah's flood, people living to be 700 or 900 years old, the Red Sea splitting, water turning into wine, a talking snake, a man living in a whale's belly,
people rising from the dead, Jesus driving demons out of people and into pigs — but which are now acknowledged by most thinking people to be mere mythology, it is pretty hard to give a lot of credibility to what's left.
They involve claims of ghosts, demons and devils, of
people rising from the dead, not just Jesus, but graveyards full of people, of miraculous healings and of people foretelling the future, of betrayal and intrigue and a great injustice against a worth hero.

People rising from the dead every calendar year... Flying fat men and reindeer who deliver billions of gifts every year via the chimney and on one night... Give me a break!

A group of
people, a little over 2000 years ago, said that a man called Jesus was the Son of God, based on what he was said to have done, including
rising from the
dead.
We believe one
person of that Trinity, Jesus, took on human flesh, was crucified and
rose from the
dead.
Yes of course, they are far more confused than
people who believe in verbally expressive faming shrubbery, snakes with the ability to speak, women who get pregnant miraculously,
people who can do the aqua moon walk and zombies
rising from the
dead.
A man
rising from the
dead, a 10,000 year old Earth, the Red sea splitting, water being turned into wine,
dead people being in a «heaven» and still influencing matters on Earth, etc..
But I'm not convinced it's an accident that the first
person to declare that Jesus had
risen from the
dead (to a group of skeptical men!)
If a
person believes that Jesus died on the cross for their sins, and
rose again
from the
dead, but don't believe that by faith in Jesus they have life that can never be lost, are they justified?
If they believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross for the sins of all mankind, and if they believe that three days after his death, Jesus Christ
rose from the
dead and if they believe all of these things, but don't believe in Jesus for eternal life, that
person is not saved.
Or rather, as they would have said, it was the rebirth of the
people of God, the
rising of Israel
from the
dead, and they were in it.
And while there are occasional stories within Judaism of someone actually
rising from the
dead, these
people still died later, and are awaiting the final resurrection to this very day.
Now what is ALSO important about Jesus» crucifixion and resurrection is, is that that «He ACCORDING TO THE SCRIPTURES DIED»: «the first day they always had to KILL the passover» and that «Christ ACCORDING TO THE SCRIPTURES THE THIRD DAY,
ROSE FROM THE
DEAD» --- which is thewhole and the only reason for being of the Christians» Day - of - Worship - Rest and without which Truth «ACCORDING TO THE SCRIPTURES» there «REMAINS», NO «Sabbath Day's - rest for the
People of God».
Prior to the resurrection of Jesus, no Jewish
person believed that the Messiah would die and
rise from the
dead.

That the second
person of the trinity
rises from the
dead is not surprising, because he can not die.
Not only He resurrected
people, but He himself was
risen from the
dead.
Clearly it wasn't good enough because only a few
people saw him and not enough for even one other scholar to write about a jesus figure
rising from the
dead and walking around.
And yet you can not
rise from the
dead, turn water into wine or heal
people by laying on of hands.
Humans
from Adam + Eve (and incest), really old
people, parting oceans, languages
from fallen towers, feeding thousands
from few bread loafs, virgins giving birth,
rising from the
dead.
It's a greater fantasy NOT to believe that there is an all powerful invisible god somewhere in the universe who knows everything, can do anything, hears everyone's thoughts, etc, or that someone died and
rose from the
dead three days later (this same
person was born of a virgin), or that someone spoke to god via a burning bush, or that one old man, who lived to be 900 years old, built a boat that held two of every animal on the earth to survive a worldwide flood?

people are pretty much the same - we are sometimes gullible, and often skeptical - and even 2,000 years ago
people understood that
rising from the
dead was not exactly an everyday occurence.
Remember, Jesus,
rose from the
dead and was seen by over 500
people in one place.
Then there are more risky questions, like why are the gospel stories so different, does Timothy really sound like it was written by Paul, do
people really get swallowed by great fishes, do
people really
rise from the
dead, is there a god.
Things like: — there is no such thing as a ghost —
people do not
rise from the
dead — snakes can not talk — seas do not part at the wave of a hand, and on and on...
We're talking about talking serpents, the parting of bodies of water with the wave of a hand, an impossible Ark, a vengeful hate - filled man - made god,
rising from the
dead, killing
people who work on sunday or selling our daughters into slavery.
See, Johnny, that's exactly my point; I present
people like you with well - developed arguments and, when you have run out logical avenues by which to respond, you turn immediately to the mantras of your faith — «jesus
rose from the
dead».
Yep, the Bible teaches that Jesus, the second part of the Holy Trinity who form the only One God in three
persons, who was eternally existent, and uncreated, just as the Father, came to earth and died on the cross to make propitiation for the elect, that He
rose from the
dead, and that He will come again.
But
from what we can know about the
person of Christ, his ministry, his death and the curious conviction of his followers he
rose from the
dead shortly after his death, you are confronted with the question: how should we make sense of this all?
If you want a NT one, there's the one in the book of Matthew 27, where
dead people rose from their graves and went into the city of Jerusalem and «were seen by many».

people dead for many days, that would have decomposed,

The gospel, according to many
people, is the message that Jesus Christ died on the cross and

dead to pay the penalty for our sins and all we have to do to receive eternal life is believe in Jesus for it.

In that way, and that way alone, Jesus

dead and lives on in the human heart and mind because if you believe in the Resurrection then treat
people without compassion, mercy, justice and forgiveness, what good is the any of it?

from some gnostic heap instead of the 500
people who testified that Jesus

Many
people must also understand that Jesus is God incarnate, lived a sinless life, died on the cross, and
rose again
from the
dead.
People don't
rise from the
dead, unless someone revives them... Learn your science.
