pepper flakes really add to the whole dish?

I ended up with a recipe for cheddar cheese crackers that followed almost the exact same format as yours (http://smittenkitchen.com/2009/06/cheese-straws/ your substitute cheddar cheese for parm (although a mix of the two would probably taste
really good) Other good additions in lieu bacon are dried mustard, red
pepper flakes or cayenne
pepper.
If you
really want to turn up the heat, add crushed red
pepper flakes to the sauce.
Feel free to adjust the garlic and red
pepper flakes to taste to make this pizza as mild or as spicy as your heart desires, though that little kick from the RPF
really takes this one out of the park.
We eat spaghetti with «meat sauce» (basically: cook an onion and some ground beef, drain, cook some garlic & red
