The recent growth
of renewables is perhaps slightly encouraging, but wind and solar still only make up about five
percent of the nation's electricity
share.
In fact, you could easily argue that China has already done far more than the U.S. to transform its energy supply: Including hydropower,
renewables now make up 20
percent of the energy mix (compared to 13
percent in the U.S.), a
share targeted to double by 2030.
To help address the problem, the minister wrote, Jordan is aiming to increase its
share of renewable energy resources from 1
