Findings, published in the journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, put the percentage of married couples that now meet online at almost 35 % — which gives what may be the first broad look at the overall
percentage of new marriages that result from meeting online.
«It is intriguing that shortly after the introduction of the first dating websites in 1995, like Match.com,
the percentage of new marriages created by interracial couples increased rapidly,» say the researchers.

According to the Pew Research Center, four out
of 10
new marriages last year included at least one partner who had been married before, and a good
percentage who haven't yet are interested in doing so.
