The silicone - muffin - pan trick works well for freezing anything you'll be wanting to defrost in smaller (1 / 2 - cup) increments (
pasta sauce, leftover soup or broth,
pesto, gravy, etc.) That's all I ever use my silicone muffin pan for!

This recipe makes leftover
pesto that you can use on other meats, as a
sauce for zoodles or
pasta, or as a nice dip for veggies.

The idea is to make a
pasta sauce that hits all the same flavor receptors as
pesto: the edamame is nutty and the miso is umami, providing the pine nut - parmesan punch that we love about
pesto, and ginger in place of the basil provides fresh, herby flavor.
Since you probably already know how to use
pesto (as a
pasta sauce, pizza
sauce, crostini spread, etc.), I thought it'd be more useful to share some of my favorite
pesto variations.
Please note, since
pesto is the base for this creamy
sauce, the flavor of
pasta will change depending on kind of
pesto used.
This
pesto sauce is delicious on
pasta, fish, chicken, risotto, or bruschetta.
Chicken and penne
pasta are deliciously smothered in a creamy basil
pesto sauce.
Jessy, not just

Not only is this
pesto delicious on

Although the red pepper puree won't have as much pizzazz without its partner, the pistachio

Healthy yet creamy alfredo
pasta sauce packed with vegetables and with a hint of
pesto!
Your pictures of the
pesto (especially in the ice cube tray) made me so hungry for a dish of
pasta with
pesto sauce.
I served it as a side dish to some
pasta with
pesto sauce (which I also got from this website).
So instead of
pasta, make «zoodles» out of zucchini and serve with tomato
sauce or
pesto (and drop in a few mixed veggies for still more servings!)
It's chunks of chicken and penne
pasta tossed in a creamy
pesto sauce.
Mix it into
pesto or other
sauces, sprinkle it on top of
pasta, use it in a risotto, or toss it with popcorn.
Spinach Basil
Pesto makes for the Perfect sandwich spread,
pasta sauce or dip.
My version is inspired by The Pioneer Woman's recipe for
pasta with
pesto cream
sauce.
The
sauce can also be used as a sandwich spread or stirred, like
pesto, into hot
pasta.
