Land Rover is giving its smallest models significant updates for the 2018 model year, chief of which are new Ingenium
petrol and diesel units with up to 290 metric horsepower.
Part of the new modular engine family, both
petrol and diesel units are expected to share common capacities.
While globally the Cooper Convertible comes with a wide option of engines including 1.5 - litre
petrol and diesel units, the British brand is only offering open - top motoring in S trim in India.
The staple engines in the F - Pace are expected to be the new four - cylinder Ingenium
petrol and diesel units that will make their debut in the Jaguar XE saloon and Land Rover Discovery Sport from this summer.
JLR will launch the Velar in international markets with the Ford - sourced V6s currently used throughout its range, but will replace them during the model's life with own Ingenium in - line six - cylinder

It is believed that the same engine range will be adopted by the Family Tourer, including the 1.5 - litre 3 - cylinder turbocharged
petrol and diesel units and the range - topping 2.0 - litre 231 hp and 350 Nm engine powering the 225i version.
Thanks to its modular architecture, the same concept applies for
the petrol and diesel units, which leads to essentially the same cost per part.
Coming to the engines, the 2016 BMW X1 offers a range of four - cylinder
petrol and diesel units with BMW's TwinPower Turbo technology.
Entry - level models with
petrol and diesel units will cost nearly the same.
The engine line - up of the 2018 Cayenne will include turbocharged
