NEW DELHI: Tata Motors - owned JLR has admitted that the changing business environment in India, owing to the limited ban on diesel vehicles, has affected its business as it now looks to introduce more
petrol variants of its cars.

Apart from the T5 and T6
variants of the Volvo S60, no other
car in the segment has more power than the Jaguar XE
petrol.
The company will launch the super
car by the middle
of 2013 in a range
of variants with different
petrol engines.
While there is no news on the availability
of this engine in the Indian Tucson, the addition
of a top -
of - the - line naturally - aspirated
petrol variant could make the
car stand out among its rivals like the Jeep Compass and VW Tiguan.
Hyundai is therefore playing up the local suspension tuning
of the new
car, which for the first time will offer a turbocharged 2.0 - litre
petrol performance oriented
variant.
There is only a fraction
of the market buying a
petrol car, and there is no need to do a Swift Sport diesel as the demand is already peaking for the MJD
variants and the factory is unable to produce enough
cars.
Entry - level GLA 200 SE spec
cars kick off the range, and is one
of three
petrol variants; the other two being the GLA 250 4Matic and the hot Mercedes - AMG GLA 45 4Matic.
When asked if JLR planned to accelerate the launch
of petrol variants of its different models, including the popular Range Rover Evoque, he said: «We are adapting our portfolio, not just because

Hyundai is known for packing its
cars with loads
of equipment and is likely to offer more goodies with the turbo
petrol version, just like what Ford is set to do with the upcoming EcoSport S
variant, which will come with the 1.0 - litre Ecoboost turbo
petrol motor.
Available in both
petrol and diesel trims, the
car is powered by Fiat's tried and tested 1.4 litre FIRE engine producing 89bhp and 115Nm
of peak torque while diesel
variants powered by 1.3 litre multijet engine generates 92bhp and 208Nm
of peak torque.
Each
of the 4 Series families come in three
petrol - engined
variants (discounting the M
cars).

of which Honda City 1.5 E MT and Honda City 1.5 S MT are equipped with 1.5 L, 1497cc, i - VTEC
petrol engine with the 5 - speed manual transmission gearbox that is able to produce 118PS power at 6600rpm and 14.9Kg - m torque at 4600rpm.
The company will however plonk in a 1.5 - litre M - Series
petrol engine in the export
variants of the
car.
The side profile
of the
car is enhanced with 15 - inch alloys for the
petrol variant, while the diesel
variant has to make do with only 14 - inch alloys.

car is on offer in 12
variants, and pricing
of the
petrol version ranges from Rs 4.99 lakh to Rs 6.96 lakh, while the diesel version is priced between Rs 5.99 lakh and Rs 7.96 lakh.
