Serotonin, detected histochemically in whole mounts, is localized in two
pharyngeal neurons that appear to be neurosecretory.

the pharyngeal neuron I4, an unidentified pair of neurons anterior to the nerve ring, and, in later larval stages, the VC motor neurons (but not A or B class motor neurons).
