One thing I've never quite understood about Wenger is his unwillingness to pay the slightest amount more than he believes a player is worth, now almost everyone would agree that Wenger has a phenomenal eye for talent but I've always felt he gets pushed out by a players price tag, maybe I'm unfairly blaming him and it's the board but if he does decide Benzema is the man to bring in, why not pay an extra # 5m or so to secure him?
