We did have some issues with apps crashing if you yank
the phone out of the dock while using them, but we got used to closing our apps before disconnecting.

I can plop my

If you are anything like most gamers
out there, then you hate the sight
of cables, and you have tons
of peripherals on your desk as well (microphones, cameras,
phone docks, controller chargers, etc.).
From Settings > Smart Assistance, the floating
dock option makes one - handed operation much easier by adding a transparent circle to the side
of the screen that, when tapped, fans
out into five shortcuts: the back / home / recents navigation buttons, a button to lock the screen, and the cleanup option from the
Phone Manager app.
There's also a Proximity Connect feature, which should allow you to connect wirelessly to a
dock without ever taking your
phone out of your pocket.
I tried a dozen different wireless pads / stands, but I've yet to find a wireless charger for my nightstand that A) is simple to
dock precisely and B) my
phone won't slide off or topple
out of.
