Phones like Redmi Note 3, now Redmi Note 4, Lenovo Vibe P series, the K6 Power, Gionee's Marathon phones, have all touted battery as the big differentiating point.
And I have used
phones like redmi note and moto g and g2.

phones like the Redmi Note 5 Pro, Honor 9i, Vivo V7 and Oppo F5 have a large bezel-less display which is a good option for those who watch a lot of videos or play games.
Is this some strategy to solely concentrate on the budget
phones like Redmi in India?
You already have budget
phones like Redmi Note 4 running the same processor.
There's no word on when popular
phones like Redmi Note 4, Redmi 4, etc will get Android Oreo.
these days even 10k
phones like Redmi note 4 look premium with metal build.
Oh and one more thing, flagship smartphones are always available and easily accessible, unlike the flash sales you've to go through for acquiring
phones like the Redmi Note 4.
K6 Power is an overall balanced
phone like the Redmi 4.

The list does not end here — some of the veteran budget
phones also fall in the same territory,
like the Moto E3 Power and the Xiaomi
Redmi 3S and Xiaomi
Redmi 3S Prime.
However, as we keep pointing out, the whole concept of the budget
phone has been turned on its head in the past year (ironically, it was the Moto E that was responsible for proving that great performance could be delivered at a relatively low price too), and in that regard, frankly the new Moto E comes off looking rather ordinary in comparison to the
likes of the
Redmi 2 and Lenovo A6000, both of which pack in 720p displays, much better 8.0 - megapixel cameras, 4G connectivity (notwithstanding its limited availability in India) and also come with better processors and dare we say it, design.
We saw devices
like the Moto G and Moto E, the Xiaomi
Redmi Note, the YU Yureka, the Asus ZenFone 4 and 5 and a few others that pretty much buried the belief that a low cost
phone had to be a poor performer.
If you have money to spare, I would say get a
phone with a bigger display and a better processor
like Redmi Note 4.
Redmi Y1 also has a fingerprint scanner on the back, just
like some of the other Xiaomi
phones we've seen in the past.
Sure, this is not a full HD 1080p display
like the
Redmi Note 4, but
Redmi Y1 is meant for the budget audience that doesn't want to pay more than Rs 9000 for its
phone.
Of course,
like other larger screen - sized
phones, the
Redmi Note 5 can be customised for one - handed usage.
It looks
like the
phone will be branded the
Redmi Note 3, according to an official teaser image posted by Xiaomi on its Weibo page:
But in countries
like India and other Southeast Asian nations, the
Redmi lineup resonates much more deeply than Xiaomi's own flagship Mi
phones for a reason: It's inexpensive and it works.
Phones like Xiaomi
Redmi Note 3, Le 1s Eco are all slightly cheaper than the new Moto G4 Plus, offer better looks and great performance.
Redmi doesn't have good camera but
phones like Cool 1, Nubia z11 mini s & Asus Zenfone 3 ZE520KL have good camera.
The
Redmi Note 5 series does not have a dedicated expandable storage slot
like the
Redmi Y1
phones.
There are no fancy dual cameras
like on the
Redmi Note 5 Pro — the
phone features a single 12MP f / 2.2 sensor, phase detection autofocus, and a dual - tone LED flash, and a 5MP front camera with a front LED flash.
With remarkably similar Xiaomi smartphones
like the only slightly more expensive Mi 5 and the much less expensive
Redmi Note 3, the Mi 4S sort of feels
like a
phone for nobody.
Like all other Xiaomi
phones, the
Redmi Y1 offers excellent value for money, and the new selfie camera is the icing on the cake.
We have seen the
likes of the Asus ZenFone 5, the Moto E, the Xiaomi
Redmi 1S, the YU Yureka and the Xiaomi
Redmi Note prove that it is possible to get a very good
phone for less than Rs 10,000 (about USD 160).
My girlfriend's
Redmi Note 4 feels rock solid and looks
like a high end
phone with its matte metal back and a chamfered edge.
The
phone has the usual «Mi» logo at the back and from the design, it truly looks a more premium handset than the
Redmi series and the
likes.
In contrast with its competitor
like Xiaomi
Redmi Note 4 and Coolpad Cool 1, it looks quite stunning, and that's why it is being touted a step best - looking budget
phone in a long time.
Much
like the Xiaomi
Redmi Note 4, the Xiaomi Mi A1 is a
phone that does not make you feel that you are not holding a premium dollar device in your hand as far as performance is concerned.
Once again
like Redmi Note 5 and
Redmi Note 5 Pro,
Redmi 5 continues with Android Nougat 7.1.2 when rivals are launching
phones with Android Oreo 8.1 on them.
At first glance, the
Redmi 5A looks
like the quintessential Xiaomi smartphone, similar to many
Redmi phones that we've seen in the past.
The
phone also falls into same budget smartphone category where the company's other handsets
like Redmi Note 4,
Redmi 4 and
Redmi 4A are leading the segment.
These scores are similar to other
phones in this segment
like the
Redmi 4 and
Redmi Y1.
In China, it's perhaps even tougher, with solid options
like the Xiaomi
Redmi Note 4X costing half of the Huawei
phone.
The
phone is not recommended to buy as there are many better
phones available
like Redmi 4 which has better processor and storage.

Redmi Note 5 competes with the

Even with metallic frames and 2.5 D glass design, the
phone failed to impress me in terms of design, especially when I look at competition
like Moto G5, Xiaomi
Redmi Note 4 and Lenovo K6 Power.
Because when compared directly to
phones like the iPhone 7 Plus and the
Redmi Note 5 Pro, you will notice that the V9 has very similar dimensions as these two
phones.
