Dehydration of
phosphoric acid using sodium chloride gives trimetaphosphate, and here we report that trichlorosilane, primarily used for the
production of high - purity silicon, reduces trimetaphosphate to the previously unknown bis (trichlorosilyl) phosphide anion.
