Besides the nutrients of special consideration in a vegan diet: calcium, iron, zinc, vitamin B12 and protein which are displayed
on the main table, when the Charts button is clicked for a food item, charts evaluating the
content of other minerals (magnesium,
phosphorus, potassium, selenium and copper) and vitamins (vitamin A, B6, C, E, K, folate, niacim, riboflavin, thiamin, etc.) are displayed.
Readers should take note that not all of these products are necessarily suitable for all dogs and / or individuals of all life stages (e.g. large breed puppies), due to a variety of factors like fat percentage, calcium and
phosphorus content and so
on.
Seven groups of dogs (n ≥ 5) were raised
on a diet with a composition meeting the National Research Council (NRC) requirements (1974), but differing in calcium
content, with or without a constant ratio to
phosphorus.
