Without a strong director of
photography with a point of
view, a film can
be somewhat lacking even if every other aspect of the movie
is firing
on all cylinders.
A second
viewing on Blu - ray opened up some of the attributes that I missed — most notably the lovely
photography — and made me realize that I
was reacting negatively to certain plot twists in the script by Baker and Chris Bergoch, as well as the actions of certain characters; more and more, I find that I don't wish to spend any more time than
is necessary with people (including entirely fictional creatures) who
are selfish and unkind.

been trying for months to persuade Lamborghini's PR dept to let me document the build —
photography is strictly forbidden within the factory and customers
are also strongly discouraged from
viewing their own cars
being assembled (imagine if a technician accidentally dropped a spanner
on your pride and joy) but after some lengthy phone calls they kindly agreed.

Jerome Liebling
is on view in University of Minnesota's exhibition Singing Our History: People and Places of the Red Lake Nation which explores the many ways the Red Lake Nation has
been and continues to
be portrayed by artists and members of its communities through art and

Dennis Hopper's The Lost Album, a collection of the late actor's poignant black - and - white
photography on view now at L.A.'s Kohn Gallery through September 1,

photography, the Weather Paintings
are mysterious images photographically printed as an aerial
view of the land, creating a disorienting sense of sight so that the viewer feels suspended above rather than
being on the ground.
Victoria Sambunaris: Taxonomy of a Landscape
is on view currently at the Museum of Contemporary
Photography, Chicago through March 31, 2013.
