Already by the mid-1960s, painting had lost its authority as the dominant artistic medium and instead
galleries had begun to show much more heterogeneous experimental and sometimes politically and socially provocative work in new media (film, video, and
photography), as well as confrontational live art and other kinds of participatory and performance -
based approaches.
The Swedish
Photography presented from a
gallery that is
based in Berlin was notable as is in SP - Arte in their second year bringing together many young and important emerging artists «We would like to show Brazilians important references from the Swedish photographers like Inka Lindergard and Niclas Holmström, and we are very enthusiastic with the public response» say Dorotheé the project director.

based in Toronto — selected three winners.
Sophie Hackett, associate curator of
photography at the Art
Gallery of Ontario (AGO), will lead the 2014 Prize panel which will include luminaries Laurie Simmons, a New York
photography and film -
based artist, and Okwui Enwezor, director of Munich's renowned Haus der Kunst.
A suite of four sculptures by Larry Rivers created in 1970, collectively titled Me and My Shadow, share the
gallery and offer a valuable addition to the history of
photography -
based art in the 1970s, prefiguring similar ideas of the Pictures Generation.
In the side
gallery we get a sense of Larner's found object
based installation as well as her
photography, which appear to be interrelated.
With a solo show at both the Andy Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh and Perrotin
gallery in New York, Iranian - born and
based artist Farhad Moshiri is simultaneaosly showing several bodies of work created over decades (in Pittsburgh) and a brand new series of works inspired by
photography (in New York.)
