The gallery, highly regarded for its intellectual rigor, represents an international roster of artists who work primarily in
photography, video, film, and text, although a recent
show featured paintings for the first time.
Featuring the likes of Cindy Sherman, Martha Rosler and Birgit Jürgenssen, this exhibition
shows, in film,
photography, collage, performance and video, just how confrontationally political the avant garde was in the 1970s and, by extension, how tame it is now.
Her work is currently
featured in a host of group
shows and exhibitions on
photography, including art - historical
shows such as Real Worlds: Brassai, Arbus, Goldin at the MOCA in Los Angeles.
Drawing from the National Museum of Women in the Arts collection, this
show features photography and video works by 17 artists focusing their camera on the female body as a vital medium for storytelling, expressing identity and reflecting individual and collective experience.
