James and I were in California on spring break, I had just bought our first DSLR camera and I made him take
photos of my outfit as I awkwardly stood in front of some tropical - looking greenery.
Of course, while my husband was photographing all the pretty cars I made him take a few
photos of my outfit as well.
I actually haven't ever taken
a photo of the outfit as a shoot to see what it looks like, but I have done snaps when no mirror was around.

as dressing him up like Cupid,

As I scrolled down the event page, Moms were sharing their 80s - inspired
outfits or flashback
photos, chatting about 80s trends (the theme
of the new release was, well, the 1980s) and guessing what the new colour might be.
Google around and you'll find Hitler costumes, a
photo of a Christopher Reeves
as Superman in a wheelchair costume, and overly sexy costumes for kids including a skin - flashing leopard
outfit (the likes
of which inspired one feminist group in Calgary to recently launch a Take Back Halloween campaign).
I bet you'll see most
of these items coming up in new blog posts because I am planning on taking some
outfit photos as well.

I know this is a stretch
of a topic for an
outfit post, but I was looking at these
photos and thinking about how cotton dresses get wrinkly the minute you put them on, which,
of course, led me to think about my days
as a professional ironing girl.

So we naturally took some quick
outfit photos before going in to shop, because I seriously love this place
as a background
of my

outfits that don't photograph well, mostly ones that I love but in
photos look far too boring to bother posting
as sometimes the different textures
of my typically all - black ensembles get lost on the
photos xxxxxxx p.s. I would absolutely love to be a pen pal, I've never actually had one except a german pen pal when I was 14 and my german was limited to say the least!
It's been awhile since we had a chance to go out and shoot
outfit photos (we have been so focused on our little baby,
as he was a newborn he needed 100 %
of our time and energy and now,
as he's bigger - he's now 4 months old, he cries less and it's just easier to get things done!)

As noted in the title, these
photos of my workweek

I have tried stylists and paid $ 400 for a few Skypes with a few stylists and at the end felt quite deflated
as all that transpired was to try on each
outfit, take
photos and send them in and then we would go over why each
outfit didn't work and that was it: end
of story, thank you and goodbye.

I'm off on holiday for a few days with my family so thought I would share some
of my favourite recent Instagram
photos today
as I have been busy packing for my trip and haven't had a chance to shoot my usual

I found them very comfortable and soft for a day at home but
as I typically do not wear regular leggings out
of the house, I did not feature them in

Try to wear
outfits you feel good in, favourite pieces
of jewellery and colours that you know look great in

as blues, purples and pinks.
I've been loving my white sneaks for quite a while now and the switch out
of the white laces for black struck me
as a great way to connect the shoes to the
outfit (even if I had to borrow them from my real trainers for the
photos because I forgot to buy new laces in time for the
photo shoot).
I'll be honest and say that I wore this over the weekend and didn't end up going anywhere except out to take
photos, but this is totally grad - school - worthy,
as the majority
of my
outfits are (and it's worth repeating!).
We wanted to not only make it about the
outfit, but really focus on the aesthetic
of the
photos as well and incorporate a little story.
