photos from brands so don't be afraid to take some snapshots
of those sleeves or cool new shoes.
While moms certainly
do have a lot
of incredible options when it comes to selecting their children's attire, and while their
outfits may look absolutely stunning, constantly sharing
photos of those
outfits is a tad irritating.
Although don't think this is the last you've seen
of our red garage door — in true scientist fashion, I plotted out a few blog posts over the next month and studiously planned my
outfits and took
photos in advance.
It was actually really windy when these
photos were taken, my hat got blown out once So, what
do you think

Since I didn't take any
outfit photos, I have decided to share some
of the iPhone pics that I snapped along the way!
As I hate
doing outfits photos, here's an old picture
of me wearing it.
While I am generally used to the curiosity
of onlookers when I go out to
do outfit photoshoots, I've never taken my
photos in so blatantly a public place before.
I should
do similar with my
photos because... you are right, it
does take a lot
of time to take pictures in
outfits you aren't really wearing!
Looking through the
photos, it turns out the scarf doesn't go that well with the rest
of the
outfit.
My highlight was clearly tracking down some
of the best street art in LA (thanks to Studio DIY's «Wall Crawl» post) to take
outfit photos in front
of it (I mean come on, who doesn't think that's fun:p) haha!
I
did manage to put together some presentable
outfits though and a few
of the
photos turned out cute (thanks to our miracle - worker
of a photographer).
Nothing screams V - Day like red pumps + a red bag... especially paired with a «Little Black
Outfit «♥ I actually didn't go for the LBD (crazy, I know) so instead I opted for a black floral top and an easy to mix + match black scuba skirt!Nothing makes editing
photos quite as enjoyable as finding funny shots like this one haha That's the joy
of shooting with friends:p Let me break down my look — this top is a combination
of Faux Leather + a Floral Print... such a fun combo!
I
do this thing where I take
photos with my phone
of potential
outfit post locations.
Some
of the pieces were a lot like ones that I already own (chambray and black and white foreverrrr), so I didn't need to purchase, but it was great having the
photos of the
outfits put together so when I was packing I could remember what to include and how we styled them in with the new pieces.
I didn't get chance to post my
outfit from the last challenge, but you can see a
photo of it in flat - lay form over on Jen's blog.
It's so nice that My Kind
of Lovely doesn't open until 11:00 but since I like to fit in a little blog work in the mornings I like to
do some
outfit photos before work and while I still look decent.
And I
did get quite a few stares when we took
photos of a summer
outfit just some days before Christmas because the light was perfect!
Not only
do I like the 1910's inspired
outfit (which is a bit different
of a style for me, and one that I am incorporating more and more into my wardrobe), but the
photos were taken on the brink
of a summer thunderstorm!

Another thing I never slowed down long enough to
do was to get
photos of some
of my other
outfits while wearing them.
I definitely have
outfits that don't photograph well, mostly ones that I love but in
photos look far too boring to bother posting as sometimes the different textures
of my typically all - black ensembles get lost on the
photos xxxxxxx p.s. I would absolutely love to be a pen pal, I've never actually had one except a german pen pal when I was 14 and my german was limited to say the least!
It's been awhile since we had a chance to go out and shoot
outfit photos (we have been so focused on our little baby, as he was a newborn he needed 100 %
of our time and energy and now, as he's bigger - he's now 4 months old, he cries less and it's just easier to get things
done!)

Although the
photo in front
of the red car is stunning from a color and contrast study I couldn't tell you what you were wearing unless I peeked again but I
do remember every
outfit you modeled on your way to work surrounded by your environment.
I wish there were better
photos of our
outfits but I didn't plan for the fact that with the very dark days we've been having, the light outside just isn't enough to get good pictures.
My daughter saw some
of your
photos a while back and persuaded me to
do an
outfit post with her
Part
of doing outfit photos sometimes is just finding the perfect location, freezing my bum off and rushing to get the perfect shot so I can get back indoors.
And
of course, as always, I'm glad you like the
outfit here =D So OK we might not have had the same reasons to not want to take
photos years ago, but I wonder if our change
of hearts has something to
do with the digital age we're living in now?
It monsooned, so I didn't get a chance to snap
outfit photos at the actual time
of the event.
I've just been enjoying lazing around but I've finally bothered to leave the comfort
of my Macbook, get some
outfit photos done and return to the world
of cyber with a few
photos of my
outfit and a lot
of my back.
I have tried stylists and paid $ 400 for a few Skypes with a few stylists and at the end felt quite deflated as all that transpired was to try on each
outfit, take
photos and send them in and then we would go over why each
outfit didn't work and that was it: end
of story, thank you and goodbye.
So I didn't really realize how much I looked like a Kpop star until I saw this
outfit in
photos (kind
of like the time I unintentionally dressed up like an Asian tourist), but I think what throws it over the edge is the beanie.
Having a BFF who loves fashion as much as you
do is such a bonus, dearest Dawn... how awesome that the two
of you
do daily
outfit photos together!!
I found them very comfortable and soft for a day at home but as I typically
do not wear regular leggings out
of the house, I
did not feature them in
outfit photos.
bloggers who live in cold places either own tons
of coats to create different looks, or they freeze to take
outfit photos (like i am sort
of doing here!)
I will take
photos of my
outfit if I
do go!
I could have some kind
of silly segue between that paragraph above and today's
outfit photo, but I don't really.
Once a week I encourage you to get out in public, take your
outfit photos while
doing an activity (even if it's just getting coffee), and use words to tell the story
of your adventure.

did warn you guys that it was going to be popping up in a lot
of outfit photos!
What I
do is, I take bathroom selfies
of my
outfits and put them together in one
photo, as you can see above.
I'll be honest and say that I wore this over the weekend and didn't end up going anywhere except out to take
photos, but this is totally grad - school - worthy, as the majority
of my
outfits are (and it's worth repeating!).
We also took a couple
of outfit photos which gave me the opportunity
of wearing my new hat... well you didn't think I'd go to Galeries Lafayette and come out empty handed

Being a blogger
of fashion or better,
of outfits, I
do choose my clothes with great care when I visit a city and know that
photos will be taken to publish.
One
of my biggest challenges I have when taking any
photo is surprisingly not my
outfit but what to
do with my hands.
I took the
photo before leaving for the conference because (a) I wanted to make sure the
outfit looked good (I wore it while presenting and, hello, I'm vain); and (b) I wanted to have a decent
photo of it in case it
did turn out nicely.
I actually haven't ever taken a
photo of the
outfit as a shoot to see what it looks like, but I have
done snaps when no mirror was around.
Almost all
of my
outfits end up on IG, so they don't really need the double exposure, but this is supposed to be a style blog so sprinkling a few
photos here and there is probably still a good idea.
