When we met in a room above London's Frith Street Gallery, a few months before she opened overlapping exhibitions at the Royal Academy of Arts, the National Gallery and the National Portrait Gallery, the artist returned several times to the word «magic»: when marvelling at the encounter of light and
photosensitive emulsion, at the curious way that narrative emerges from coincidence, at the moment in the editing process when everything aligns and something new emerges.
