phrase «on the other side of the Jordan,» in reference to events occurring in the lifetime of Moses, which led scholars to doubt if Moses could have been the author at least of the
whole of the Pentateuch.
The
phrase «it takes a village to raise a
child» has a
whole new meaning when the village is not one you would want raising your
child!
The
phrase «salad bar» conjures up a lovely array of fresh,
whole foods, with
children happily picking and choosing from uniformly nutritious offerings.
Common disfluencies for
children this age are syllable repetitions (ca - cat), using interjections (um, er), and repeating
whole words or
phrases («Mom mom I want a drink.»).
These same researchers decided that
children should learn by encountering
whole words, not words and
phrases parsed into phonemes.
The
phrase «All
children can learn,» although true, does not tell the
whole story.
The
whole thing is causing the term «scientist» to be synonymous with the
phrase; «educated idiots», acting like a bunch of unruly
children.
