attachment representations — due presumably
to maltreatment in infancy — in
physical abuse of infants and young children by their parents.40

to - skin contact between
mother and infant immediately post-partum and found it
to be associated with a range of improved outcomes, including
mother — infant interaction,
attachment behaviours, infant behaviour and infant
physical symptomatology in full - term and pre-term infants.
