physical game installs, all those digital games you've picked up on sweet deals, and a steady stream of PlayStation Plus freebies, your PlayStation 4 library can become rather cumbersome to navigate over time.

physical games install from the disc (or in the case of the Nintendo Switch, don't have to install at all), so you should be able to get them on your console fairly quickly regardless of how fast your connection is.

physical installs were compressed, was referring to downloading a
game from PSN.
@Letters2Kay FYI, you don't save any space with
physical copies since the PS4 fully
installs any version of its
games.

installed leads me to believe they were planning on doing away with
physical media altogether.

games that came on discs, you can often re-purchase them on GOG or Steam for a small amount of money — especially during sales — and
install those instead of relying on your old
physical discs.
