picnic in the park since the sun has decided to finally peek out.

I'm impatiently waiting for
picnics in the
park, blooming flowers, bustling streets of people who are ecstatic that the sun is shining, and laying out
in my bathing suit (or shorts I should say
since my legs are translucent from living
in Oregon).
My dear friend Jeanette first made this salad for the two of us for a summer
picnic in the
park years ago and the balance of zesty lime juice, smooth avocado and crunchy sesame seeds have stayed with me
since.
I can't really complain though because ever
since we've returned to Vancouver, we've been given an early summer with sandals,
picnics in parks and balcony layouts.
Since observatories tend to be
in rather remote locations away from the city lights, many of them have lovely
park areas that would be perfect for a
picnic after star gazing.
