Sheldrake
pictures morphogenetic fields as being the context in which forms (
of life or physical reality) which arose in the past exercise their causal influence by a non-energetic «resonance» with subsequent similar systems13 Resonance
of course is a physical analogy for something that is not physical: «A «resonant» effect
of form upon form across space and time would resemble energetic resonance in its selectivity, but it could not be accounted for in terms
of any
of the known types
of resonance, nor would it involve a transmission
of energy «14 In order to distinguish it
from energetic resonance, Sheldrake calls this
process morphic resonance.

I thought that Art Tutor didn't allow us to use digital images, and to be honest, I think that using something like this is not all that far
from going digital... As far as Dragongirl's comment that she was sure Phil did not mean us to use this tool to make our paintings look better than they actually are in «real life», well, just look at his demo
of how to use Pixlr and see how much better the cropped, colour enhanced, brightened,
pictures look at the end compared with the «original» photos and it's obvious they are different (otherwise why go through the
process if not to make a difference) AND they have more impact, i.e. are BETTER than before.

of electrical wires, connectors and components, working to manipulate and rewire the physicality
of technology; some thirty years later, John F. Simon's Art Appliances series
of the 1990s uses the circuitry
of small LCD screens to disrupt
pictures and patterns, recreating them over; in Matte Rochford's video Progressively Degrading Test Pattern 2013, humble VHS tapes are copied and recopied, in a
process of metaphysical reduction; while in Joshua Petherick's new work, one technology is employed to record another soon to be superseded, revealing new visual dimensions and the «ghosts in the machine».

As a student in 1949 at the Art Students League
of New York, for example, he laid paper on the floor
of the building's entrance to capture the footprints
of those entering and exiting.10 The creation
of receptive surfaces on which to record, collect, or index the direct imprint
of elements
from the real world is especially central to the artist's pre-1955 works.11 Leo Steinberg's celebrated 1972 article «Reflections on the State
of Criticism» isolated this particular approach to surface as collection point as the singular contribution
of Rauschenberg's works
of the early 1950s, one which galvanized a new position within postwar art. 12 Steinberg coined the term «flatbed
picture plane» to account for this radical shift, through which «the painted surface is no longer the analogue
of a visual experience
of nature but
of operational
processes.»
