Mass Vet was proud to support the efforts
of the Northeast Animal
Shelter by donating 110 stockings full
of dog and cat treats & goodies for their «
Pictures with Santa» fund raising drive
in December 2010.
A New York based animal
shelter and marketing interns at agency BBH recently posted
pictures of ten adoptable
dogs in the Tinder app and, within the week, had 2,700 matches.
Many
of the larger
shelters have people, referred to as
Shelter Walkers, that post
pictures of the
dogs in their respective
shelters to these Yahoo groups.
Now as people look at theses
pictures they have to look at the face
of a
dog that died
in a cold lonely
shelter unloved.

of assisting at an emergency
shelter in South Carolina that is providing a safe haven to
dogs and cats evacuated from Hurricane Irma.
I find my own life immensely enriched by my interaction with all animals: my own three
dogs,
shelter cats and
dogs, squirrels, birds and rabbits
in the yard, even
pictures of animals sent to me on the Internet.
There's
Shelter Me, where
dogs from
shelters throughout the U.S. are listed - and staff try to take
pictures of the
dogs in a more natural state.
Since observing temperament
in the
shelter does not give an accurate
picture of a
dog's real temperament,
shelter staff rely mainly on the individual
dog's history.
SF SPCA announced on Facebook that it would waive adoption fees on pets with orange - and - black markings (the Giants» colors), and posted cute
pictures of shelter dogs decked out
in Giants» jerseys and baseball caps, often posed with signs bearing clever — and lightly taunting — messages on its Facebook page.
Thankfully, the Humane Society
of Utah is working to tear down these negative perceptions
of shelter pets by creating unique and beautiful photo booth style
pictures of all the
dogs in need
of a forever home.
