picture of this post, sometimes I sprinkle a little white corn

of the cast iron skillet to give the pizza a «parlor» feel.

There's just no way I can take good
pictures of all my
meals, and I've always sort
of disliked the blurry «here's what I ate today» pics you sometimes see
on blogs that chronicle every
meal of the day.

of forward - thinking districts like San Francisco USD by getting rid
of our «a la carte» lines entirely, so that all kids can get a balanced
meal (instead
of grabbing nachos and a slushie and calling it lunch) and no Houston kid gets his
picture put
on Facebook to shame him for eating in the «poor kids & # 822....
Local restaurants can put
pictures of healthy
meals on the menu instead
of photos
of less healthy options, and they can make water and a vegetable the default drink and side dish for kids»
meals.
On social media, kids have been broadcasting
pictures of small, unappetizing looking
meals with comments like: «All we get for lunch today.
Some
of you may remember my 2011 Lunch Tray post («Social Media and Social Stigma
on the Lunch Line «-RRB- in which I reported that students in HISD were taking cell phone
pictures of kids standing in the federally reimbursed school
meal line, then sharing these photos
on social media with disparaging comments.

In the overall big
picture of your diet, the occasional cheat
meal really isn't even a blip
on the radar.
Preparing
meals in advance, having a large tub
of rice (as
pictured above), and only cheating
on cheat days is the key.
The version
of me

on 6 - 7 daily
meals made
of lean protein, steamed vegetables, and healthy whole grains.

When I start thinking about cheat
meals I just focus my attention
on the
picture (s)
of the great looking abs and suddenly my mind is back in line with the healthy eating.
I started drinking warm lemon water at the latter part
of 2013, the energy that it gives me cuts down
on coffee in the am, I save the lemon guts and rhines in a
picture for Lemon ade, which is not just a refreshing summer time drink, it is refreshing after
meals, food digest sooooooo much better, I use to not eat red meat such as steaks, because it took days for it to breakdown, and eliminate, but the wonders
of warm lemon juice, and I see I have lost inches and weight around the middle section!
Please pardon the fact that I'm pairing outfit
pictures with a completely unrelated discussion about
meal prep, but it's a quandary that happens to be
on my mind lately and I consider myself insanely lucky to have a community
of women whose brains I can pick about book recommendations, bucket list travel, goal setting, name changing, wedding traditions, and so
on.
Instead, paint a vivid
picture, including specific activities like enjoying a great Italian
meal and bottle
of wine with friends
on Saturday nights, reading a graphic novel at my neighborhood coffee shop (I'm the artsy one in the Newsboy cap and horn - rimmed glasses), and / or checking out the latest documentary at that restored theater downtown.

on Valentine's Day, then now may be the time for getting out
of your comfort zone by putting your

My very favorite time
of year... where I begin pulling out cookbooks (love the ones with
pictures) and planning wonderful, hearty
meals again and bringing out the throws and changing out the covers
on my throw pillows and adding a few new things to my wardrobe like a pair
of boots, a sweater and or a poncho.....

of my favorite cookbooks is the Aunt Bee cookbook — it is so fun to read, and the recipes are so perfect for Kevin — he loves down home southern

The happy homes I know have lots
of light coming through their windows (and candles to be lit
on dark days), coffee or tea brewing, lots
of books, music playing, laughter, good and simple
meals cooking or planned, green plants, plenty
of comfy seating and pillows, and
pictures of family and friends
on the fridge and the walls.
Even if you don't spend lots
of time cooking long involved
meals,
picture being
on your feet making holiday cookies for hours — oh my achin» feet!
In fact, the young family
of six that resides here spends the holidays in a series
of picture - perfect moments: baking together in the spacious kitchen, sharing a
meal in the eat - in area and huddled close
on the custom U-shaped sofa to watch a festive flick in front
of a roaring fire.
